Psychological assessment was a procedure of testing, which uses the blending of the techniques to help arrive at some of the hypotheses about a person & their behavior, personality & capabilities. Psychological assessment was also referred as a psychological testing, or doing psychological battery on specific person. Psychological testing is nearly always done or performed by licensed psychologist, or psychology trainee. Psychologists are only profession which is expertly trained in performing & interpret the psychological tests.

Psychological assessment should never ever perform in a vacuum. A part of a thorough assessment of the person is that they should also undergo a complete medical examination, to rule out all possibilities of medical, disease or organic cause for individuals symptoms. It is usually helpful to have this performed first, before psychological testing.

A psychological assessment is an attempt by skilled professional, generally a psychologist, by using these techniques & tools of psychology to learn either the general or specific facts about other person, either to inform others i.e. of how they function presently, or to predict their behavior & functioning in future.
