The majority of type 2 diabetics who have undergone metabolic surgery will recover from diabetes only after few days after the procedure.

• During your 1st week in home after discharge, you were encouraged to walk around the house (or outside) often.
• You will be initially given liquid diet as prescribed by in the postoperative diet plan. Bottom line: You need to sip different fluids all day. While the activity is encouraged, you should not be doing any of the strenuous activity or lifting weights anything more than 20 pounds.
• During these visits, our doctors will monitor the recovery & provides additional nutritional counseling. We also perform routine blood work & any other medical testing which you may need.
• The average hospital stay at our hospital is 2 days, but the patients are generally given for 2-4 weeks medical leave in order to recover completely.
