RISKS OF INTRAGASTRIC BALLON SURGERY

  • Pain & nausea will affect about 1/3rd of the people soon after inserting intragastric balloon. Even though, these symptoms generally last for a few days after the balloon placement. And they will be treated with the oral medication.
  • Serious complications or risks after the intragastric balloon placement & removal were rare. It is possible that the balloon could be deflate. If the balloon deflates, there is a risk which it can move through the digestive system. This may cause a blockage and which may require a further procedure.
